Applications and Industries

There are many applications of temperature loggers and humidity loggers. Temperature Loggers are used in a wide variety of industries, especially in restaurants, catering, transportation and medical/vaccine storage. Basically, anywhere temperature is a critical factor in storage or transportation of goods, a temperature logger is useful. LogTag Data Loggers are ideal for keeping track of:
 • Food fridges and freezers (HACCP compliant, ideal for food safety)
 • Vaccine fridges
 • Transportation (solve problems with spoilage of goods)
 • Medical storage
 • Blood storage
 • Air Conditioning and heating
 • Dry Ice storage / transport
Restaurants, Cafes & Hospitality
If you are receiving, storing, processing (including defrosting and preparing), cooling, reheating, displaying or transporting potentially hazardous foods then you must be able to show that your food has not been exposed the critical “Danger Zone” (5°C to 60°C) for too long. (Source: Australian & New Zealand Food Standards Code). Exposure to the danger zone is inevitable, but the key thing you need to do is to minimise exposure. This means you need to consider exposure to the danger zone when you are transporting, receiving, preparing, cooling, and serving food. Our range of LogTag loggers are perfectly suited to these applications. Your LogTag will provide a record of when the temperature exceeds a certain range, and also create an alarm in real-time when the temperature is an issue. This means you can find out if there are problems with fridges, freezers or transportation. If you need more information on the food danger zone and how temperature loggers can help you, visit our Food Temperature website.
Vaccine Storage
Adequate temperature control of vaccine fridges can be a matter of life-or-death. Vaccines must be stored within 2° and 8°, although it is recommended you aim for 5°C. Vaccines will die if stored below 2°C, and shelf life will be reduced if stored above 8°C. Commercial vaccine fridges generally have a built in temperature control to make sure this requirement is met. However, what happens if the fridge fails, or looses power? There is no way to tell what the temperature was during that time. This is where a LogTag data logger is a life saver. The LogTag LT, with built in LED alarm is perfect for vaccine storage temperature logging. This inexpensive device will alert you to any abnormal or unexpected temperatures, allowing you to take action immediately. If you are after more information about Vaccine Storage, you can visit our Vaccine Temperature website.
Transportation
Temperature Loggers are used in the transportation industries, especially with temperature controled transportation. If you are uncertain if your products are being transported at the correct temperature, you can place a LogTag within the package and then retrieve and analyse the results when it reaches the destination. We have had many customers do this in the past, and find really surprising results: if was not uncommon for goods to be left out of the refrigeration for periods of time and causing the food to “go off”. If you are a freight or transportation company, you can use LogTags for quality control purposes, to ensure your refrigerators are being run at the correct temperature. In addition, you can find out what the temperature variation within an area is: we have had customers shocked to see how much the temperature changes within different areas of their refrigerators.
